Google Knowledge Graph: The Birth of a Siri Rival? - mazzolasubal1958
On the surface, Google's Knowledge Graphical record seems like just another search feature, just associate the dots and it could become the brains behind a Siri-like virtual assistant. In a web log post, Google's Amit Singhal dropped a strong hint that there's more to Knowledge Graphical record than meets the eye:
"We're proud our first baby whole tone—the Knowledge Graph—which testament enable us to clear lookup more well-informed, twisting us closer to the 'Hotshot Trek computer' that I've always dreamt of building," Singhal wrote. Google has victimised the Star Trek reference earlier, when discussing its approach to speech credit in Android. Hera's Matias Duarte, in an audience with Slashgear: "If [Siri]'s Star Wars, you have these robot personalities like C-3PO who runs around and He tries to do stuff for you, messes up and makes jokes, he's kinda a comic relief guy. Our approach is many like Star Trek, perpendicular, starship Enterprisingness; every piece of calculation control surface, everything is voice-aware. It's not that at that place's a personality, information technology doesn't have a name, it's evenhanded 'Computer.'" MBD these comments to the rumors that Google is building a virtual assistant codenamed Majel–named after the wife of late Prima Trek creator Gene Roddenberry–and it's easy to ruminat where Google is going.
